After the tragic loss of the conductor and founder of the Beethoven plus Festivals – Karolos Trikolidis – a decision about the new leadership of this cultural heritage needed to be made. For five years Karolos Trikolidis was working on preserving classical music as one of the Salzkammergut regions cultural identity and to also bring it to a new audience. The region, surrounded by festivals like Salzburg Festival, the new opera house in Linz, the Musikverein in Graz or the Bregenz Festival, took pride in presenting its own cultural offer with internationally acclaimed soloists.
This challenge was taken on by a team of musicians, who have been supporting Karolos Trikolidis over the years in his endeavours. Internationally acclaimed violinist Benjamin Schmid, pianist Ariane Haering, conductor David Holzinger and Artemis Vasilopolou are forming the new team of the artistic directorship since the 2022 season.
On October 29th David Holzinger will conduct the final concert of the season, performing the two works “Gloria” by Antonio Vivaldi and “Oratorium nach Bildern der Bibel” by Fanny Hensel-Mendelssohn at the St. Pauls church in Bad Aussee in the memory of the festivals founder Karolos Trikolidis.
