The 2022/23 season ushered in the debut of David Holzinger at the Theatre in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany featuring the Brandenburger Symphony Orchestra. The work conducted was Bataclan, the one act operetta by Jacques Offenbach, staged by Theatre and Stage Director Alexander Busche. The 1855 premiered masterpiece came to quick and wide success because of its musical wit and political satire in the city of Paris. David Holzinger conducted the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra in two performances on December 30th and 31st to great appraise.
The acclaimed author and opera critic Dieter David Scholz praised the production and expressed his compliments of David Holzinger: “…he is a stroke of luck, because of his distinct affinity to Offenbach: wit, charme and sense for rhythmic precision, gifted with striking elegance.”
