The season 2022/23 brought the debut of David Holzinger at the Theatre in Brandenburg an der Havel, Germany featuring the Brandenburger Symphony Orchestra. With the new year Theatre and Stage Director Alexander Busche, staged the one-act operetta Bataclan by Jaques Offenbach. The 1855 premiered masterpiece came to quick and wide success because of its musical wit and political satire in the city of Paris. On December 30th and 31st, David Holzinger conducted the Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra in this production.
The acclaimed author and opera critic Dieter David Scholz praised the production and expressed his compliments to David Holzinger: “…he is a stroke of luck, because of his distinct affinity to Offenbach: wit, charme and sense for rhythmic precision, gifted with striking elegance.”
